Our world is complex and in my world dreams, memories and life experiences shape my visual langueage. I build my low-relief, three-dimensional interpretation of these experiences through simplified shapes and color using hand-cut layered paper, hand-woven paper and painting.

 

I think of my work as a harmonious mixture of my background in graphic design and fashion design, bringing together graphic elements, weaving techniques and construction. Paper, like fabric can be transformed and manipulated telling a story to the viewer. I have really enjoyed experimenting with these different techniques and find inspiration with each project.

 

I grew up in Carlisle, Mass. and now live in Portland Maine.
